Retained Executive Search

The selection of key executives and the quality of a company's management team are the most important factors in the success or failure of any business. Change causes companies to seek executives with special talents from outside their organization. Few companies have the time, knowledge or expertise to conduct an organized and exhaustive search on their own.

Our firm uses a thorough and proven process. For executive level searches, the approach our firm takes begins with a two or three hour meeting with the hiring authority to understand the following:

  • strategic initiatives of the company
  • role and responsibility of the executive
  • the makeup of their team
  • critical success factors that the executive will need to achieve to be successful in the position
  • chemistry and culture of the organization
  • details of the hiring process
  • compensation and benefits package
  • selling points of the overall company, the specific organization they will be part of, and the executive they will report to

Key people they will interface with may also be interviewed. In addition, preferred companies to recruit from are identified and reviewed. After the meetings, a summary of the most important aspects of the discussions are summarized and sent for review and clarification.

Once candidates have been identified, our firm uses an in-depth interview process to insure they are viable to be presented. We not only focus on the experience and culture fit, but just as importantly the likeliness that this candidate will move forward on an offer if presented. Nothing is more frustrating and wasteful of our clients time than to put someone through the entire interview process only to find out their spouse is unwilling to relocate.

Finally, we stay very involved in the offer stage to make sure our client understands fully all aspects of what needs to be negotiated to insure the candidate will be pleased with the offer and will accept. Given the competitive nature of todays staffing environment, this can be one of the most valuable aspects of what our experience can bring to your organization.
